Discord is as safe as any social media platform.  There are ways to direct-message with other users, outside of a server, and how an individual handles those messages is ultimately what makes or breaks the safety of the service.  All venues of media have scammers and shady people, but you control your own safety measures.  You can easily block individuals, or restrict your settings that allow only friends or people from servers you join to be able to contact you, or leave them open and simply not click suspicious links from people you don't know.

We have extra precautions on our Model Horse server to help keep people of all ages safe.  When you join, you'll find you have a couple of prompts to answer to help keep scam robots out of our server, and to make it a hassle for trolls and bad actors to join.  We also employ our own automatic functionality to make it difficult for anyone to use nasty language or post images that others may not want to see.  We regularly post information about how to be safe on all social medias, and Discord has one of the most rapid response teams when it comes to making the platform safer to use.

The short of it:  This is a very safe server.  What you do outside of our server, on Discord, is at your own discretion.
